DD&RS – Degrowth and the role of the engineer

Supméca is organizing a Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility (SD&SR) day for third-year students. The theme will be deliberately polemical and will focus on degrowth, with the intervention of Mr. Vincent Liégey, engineer (former executive in railway safety) and co-author of the book Un Projet de Décroissance. The objective of this day is to encourage students to question their future role as engineers. For several years now, Supméca has been integrating sustainable development and social responsibility into its training programs (in particular through dedicated modules such as here or here), and two major events are organized during the curriculum : one in the first year and the other in the last year. In September, first-year students spent half a day working on the relationship between aeronautics and the issue of SD&RS. They were able to benefit from the expertise of Ms. Amélie Lummaux, who spoke as Director of Environment, CSR and Territories for the ADP Group.
