Professor Emin Bayraktar, research professor at ISAE-Supméca in the field of Tribology and Materials, was awarded the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Sofia University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy in Bulgaria (UTCM) during a ceremony held on 27 March 2021.

An exchange under the Erasmus + programme

The title was awarded by Prof. Senya Terzieva-Zhelyazkova, Rector of UTCM ; Prof. Martin Bozhinov, Vice-Rector in charge of research and Prof. Raina Bryaskova, Vice-Rector in charge of education. During the ceremony, they underlined the quality of Prof. Bayraktar’s research work and his involvement since 2004 in the partnership established between ISAE-Supméca and UTCM.

This collaboration is framed, financed and supported by the Erasmus + programme, which allows exchanges of teachers and students in European universities. Within this framework, the teaching delivered by Emin Bayraktar at the UTCM concerns the theme of Novel composites (MSC-PhD students), Materials (Physics + Chemistry of Materials), Fracture Mechanics-Damage Analyses, and Manufacturing Techniques. Between teaching and research, these seventeen years of collaboration have allowed more than 25 publications in the scientific press..

Current research projects

Today, this union continues with the team of the department of mechanics of the UTCM. This distinction marks the determination of the UTCM to perpetuate its relations with ISAE-Supméca on the academic level as well as on the scientific research level. It also shows the dynamism of the international exchanges of ISAE-Supméca.

A thesis was started last year :
1- Recycled aluminium 7075 based composites reinforced with TiC, et MoS2, thèse de Mme Lilia Mihlyuzova, cotutelle ISAE-Supméca/UTCM, financée par l’Ambassade de France à Sofia.

And a second one is in preparation :
2- NiTiCu and FeTi45 smart composites, cotutelle ISAE-Supméca/UTCM, financée par l’Ambassade de France à Sofia. »​​
