Abstract:  

In this presentation, it is proposed a new Framework to ensure traceability in the supply chain in real time based on blockchain and Big Data that could provide an information platform for all members of the supply chain with transparency, neutrality, reliability and security. The textile sector supply chain was chosen as an example to validate the proposed Framework, as the creation of traceable and transparent supply chains for the textile industry would help customers make informed choices about the products they buy and the companies they support. For other stakeholders in the textile supply chain, traceability and transparency create better relationships with their customers, increase efficiency and reduce the risk and cost of product recalls, counterfeiting and unethical work. However, as this technology is still in its infancy, it has some inherent shortcomings, where scalability becomes paramount and urgent when dealing with mass data in the real world especially in the case of the textile sector. Therefore, we introduce a new integration between two technologies namely blockchain and Big Data to complement large scale decentralised systems. In this study, we examine the need for a traceability system concept, followed by the presentation of a Big Data Framework integrated with blockchain and its development processes. Finally, the performance of this framework is evaluated and the challenges of such a traceability system that can be solved by further research are presented.
