Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer le séminaire de

Guilherme Rosa Franzini, invité externe, portant sur la "Passive suppression of flow-induced vibrations using nonlinear energy sinks.".

Le 07/03/2024 à 13h15 via Teams.

Résumé  :

Flow-induced vibrations (FIV) usually lead to self-excited oscillations that can cause relevant impact on the structural lifespan. Hence, the search for alternatives for passive suppression is of interest for both the academic and the technological communities. Sometimes, linear absorbers like the tuned mass dampers are not effective for suppressing FIV. In this talk, the use of nonlinear energy sinks (NESs) is discussed as alternatives for passive suppression of three FIV phenomena, namely vortex-induced vibrations (VIV), galloping and vibrations due to the internal flow in pipes discharging fluid. Numerical and experimental results will be presented and discussed.
