Résumé :

Harmonics in the power lines cause energy losses, communication interference, and electronic equipment failure with microelectronic control systems. Hence the power quality issue at the consumer end is of great concern. Active filtering is used to solve these sorts of problems offering many topologies. Shunt Active Filter (SAF) is one of them. SAF can generate an equal but exactly opposite current, to cancel the harmonics caused by nonlinear loads. Whereas the modern electronic switches such as GaN and SiC offer higher efficiency, lower losses, and support high frequency which in return allows to reduce the weight and size of overall structure by reducing the size of passive elements such as inductors. But the optimal control of such devices is of main concern. On the other hand, the importance of renewable energy systems in future systems is evident in the literature. Drastic shift towards renewable energy integration into the system is because of many advantages like environmental friendliness, less to no emissions, sustainability, independence, etc. In our research we shall use SiC devices to model and control SAF structure using high frequency, in the presence of renewable energy and battery. Priority based energy management is also considered to economize the overall hierarchy. Simulink MATLAB is used to model the structure where PLECs library is integrated in MATLAB to carry out the analysis related to the losses. Overall structure will be analyzed and optimized in the Power Electronics Lab of Quartz, under supervision of Prof. Mohammad Alaa Eddin ALALI, which will be then marketed with IMEON Energy.
